Post Script: Canopy Bed

OK, I exaggerated a little bit when I wrote about Caroline’s move to a canopy bed.  Not ALL of the pictures we got were sans diaper.  And I also left out an important detail:  We didn’t have a twin mattress for her first night in the bed.  She slept on the box spring on a nest of soft blankets.  We did buy a new mattress for her yesterday, however, so putting that on and covering it with new flowery sheets gave me a chance to get some nice “G”-rated pictures of her under her new canopy.

But first, the “Good-bye Cribbie!” kiss:

The Good-Bye Kiss

(I  had forgotten that we got this picture before the diaper removal …)

OK, now for the public unveiling of Caroline in her canopy bed — don’t think for a minute that she wasn’t going to include her pink pigs in the event:

Hello Canopy Bed!

Hello Canopy Bed!

And a final note:  Caroline’s first night in her new bed went off without a hitch, as I wrote yesterday.  Her second night included the more usual, expected down-falls, so to speak … she fell out of bed!  Oops!  Actually, this happened twice in the last hour as I’m writing here.  Both times I was able to race upstairs and get her back in bed, snuggled up with her pink pigs, before she really woke up and figured out what happened.

Note to self.  Probably should dust off the toddler bed rails we have somewhere out in the garage, compliments of Aunt Amy and Uncle Ken …

Oooh. Beautiful bed Caroline! I’m sure the piggies like it too! Miss you guys. Can’t wait to hear if we’re having a boy or a girl. When will we know?
